Jesse Chun

score for unlanguaging is an ongoing series of drawings that fragment and abstract the world's most dominant language/global lingua franca, English to propose other semiotic trajectories. Using a Roman Alphabet stencil, Chun unfixes, layers, and reimagines the existing linguistic and visual structures to propose new constellations. The abstract scores also become activated through performance and collaboration, in which Chun invites other artists to interpret the scores through the act of open translation.
